Are Designer Handbags Good Value?

By Lee MacRae

The latest in fashion rage is designer handbags. It seems everyone from your sister to your podiatrists desires a Hogan handbag. But since we know designer handbags are usually very expensive, the question that we have to ask is, are we spending our money wisely?

For someone who has money to burn the question doesn't really matter. But if you want to make sure you get value for your money you want to be confident that purse or bag by Cole Haan is worth it. Well, the good news is that most designer handbags are made from the very best material, usually leather. Top grade leathers give products like handbags a fine appearance and a long lasting quality since it resists abrasion and handling very well. Leathers that are top quality grill so extremely supple. If you look inside a handbag and can hear the material crack... it is low-grade leather. Avoid it!

There is no doubt part of the cost of the designer handbag is the name on the label. But you should also understand you will pay for the quality built into a brand-name product. The best bags made by Dolce and Gabbana or Sak use only the very best leathers.

Want a hint to know what you're getting? Top designer handbags will always have a fine lining material inside. The cheaper products will not have that. Makers of cheap products are always looking to lower the costs. As a result, you will find cheaper linings and even cheaper hardware. Avoid these like the plague. Full grain leather products are made from top grade natural hides without imperfections. These top grain leather's are extremely durable. It is long-lasting and over time, develops a rich patina that increases natural beauty. Full-grained handbags are often made from the skins of young cattle and have extremely smooth texture, and very fine quality.

In conclusion, you may pay a lot for a handbag by UGG or Besso but what you're going to get is a top quality product that will stand the test of time. Even if you have to save up your money, use it wisely and by a designer handbag.

The first fashion designer who was not simply a dressmaker was Charles Frederick Worth(18261895). Before the former draper set up his maison couture (fashion house) in Paris, clothing design and creation was handled by largely anonymous seamstresses, and high fashion descended from that worn at royal courts. Worth's success was such that he was able to dictate to his customers what they should wear, instead of following their lead as earlier dressmakers had done. The term couturier was in fact first created in order to describe him. It was during this period that many design houses began to hire artists to sketch or paint designs for garments. The images were shown to clients, which was much cheaper than producing an actual sample garment in the workroom. If the client liked their design, they ordered it and the resulting garment made money for the house. Thus, the tradition of designers sketching out garment designs instead of presenting completed garments on models to customers began as an economy.

When it comes to buying swimwear find a suit that doesnt pinch. You shouldnt be bulging above and/or below any of the straps or material. If you feel like you cant breathe or certain areas pinch, revert back to rule number 4 and size up.
When it comes to buying swimwear keep in mind, you want to get the right bottom! You want the bottom to contour your curves without sagging (or pinching). Let the bottom gently hug your body. You might also want to elongate your legs with a side tie bottom or a thin, high-arching hipster bottom.
